Run baby run…

By no means a new fashion film – but certainly one of the most memorable.

Alex Turvey is a fabulously talented young film-maker and illustrator, and this is a fashion film commissioned by Dazed & Confused and shown as part of onedotzero and Dazed’s Fashion in Film program at the BFI. An eye-poppin’ visual feast that reminds me of Nirvana’s Heart Shaped Box video…Now that’s a refreshing blast from the past!

And eagle-eyed blog viewers will have spotted Charlie Le Mindu’s hair lips dyed blonde and worn backwards in Lady GaGa’s Bad Romance video.

Altogether now! “Walk, walk fashion baby, move it work that bitch k-razee…”

LADY GAGA HEADPHONES

As if Gaga wasn’t doing enought already, now she’s designed a new pair of headphones! They are rather lovely though and even have a flat, tangle-free cable which mean no more time wasted tring to detangle wires! It seems celebrity-designed products and collaborations are continuing to grow as endorsement and exclusivity create an extra reason for people to spend their money. Channeling her love for music Lady Gaga’s new earphones will be called ‘Heartbeat’, holistically designed to deliver pitch-perfect highs, precise mids and club caliber bass. The earphones will be released next month.

Paparazzi by Lady Gaga

This is for you Robert…
It has been a while since an artist has embraced the music video and exploited it to its full mini-movie potential. For that reason – and the brilliant styling – I love this.

I see what you’re trying to do….

Despite the recent backlash, I still very much enjoy Lady Gaga. However, I’m not sure about this Rolling Stone magazine cover:

Lady Gaga is only in her twenties but looks way, way, way older in this shot and is it just me or does she bare a striking resemblance to Bette Midler in the brilliant 1993 film Hocus Pocus (which also stars a pre-Carrie SJP) ????

Rolling Stone is known for its eye-catching covers, such as this Britney one from 1999. At that time Britney was still convincing the world she was a 17 year old virgin… Middle America was outraged by this raunchy jail-bait cover. If only they knew that was a mere taster of what was to come from Miss Spears….

Tilda goes GaGa

Here’s a still of the fabulous Tilda Swinton, from the new film ‘The Limits of Control.’ I was drawn to the brilliant Lady GaGa inspired look she is sporting. The movie is written and directed by Jim Jarmusch and also stars Bill Murray and Gael Garcia Bernal. It has the tagline, ‘For every way in, there is another way out,’ it’s of the crime thriller genre and looks pretty good. So I’m guessing the wig and hat are in aid of disguise rather than channelling a certain pop star. Still, she looks fantastic.
